Excellent Advice from the I Ching

The following story is intended to help me understand the implications of the ongoing square between Transiting Saturn in Pisces and Transiting Jupiter in Gemini, particularly how it affects my natal Moon in Gemini. This time of reflection is especially relevant as we face delays in our plans to move to Falmouth, where we hope to start a vibrant and rewarding new life away from a hate campaign stirred up by our vindictive and selfish neighbour, Saroj.

In the heart of a misty, ancient forest, Maia wandered, burdened by the weight of betrayal and loss. Once a respected healer in her village, she had dared to speak out against the corrupt chieftain, only to be met with scorn and exile. Forced into hiding, she sought refuge in the deep woods, where shadows seemed to cling to her spirit.

Each day, she blended into the undergrowth, shielding her light, her true self, from a world that had turned hostile. It was a dark time, and Maia knew she needed to mask her inner brilliance to protect herself, like the sun hidden behind clouds, waiting for a time to shine freely once more. She lived carefully, moving silently and keeping to the edges, biding her time.

One evening, as dusk fell, she encountered a wolf limping through the forest with a wound on its paw. In her heart stirred an old impulse, the healer’s instinct that had been her joy and purpose. But as she reached out, a harsh voice within cautioned her against exposing herself, even for a moment. This internal struggle mirrored Hexagram 36, Brightness Hidden, urging her to conceal her true nature in a time of danger.

Yet as she watched the wolf’s pained eyes, Maia felt an undeniable pull. She couldn’t deny her calling, even under the threat of darkness. She placed her hands upon the animal, chanting softly, allowing a faint warmth to flow through her palms. Her light, though dimmed, remained a part of her, resilient and unyielding.

In the days that followed, Maia noticed that her cautious kindness toward the wounded creatures around her had created a shift. The forest seemed to embrace her, offering signs and paths that weren’t there before. One day, while following a trail she had never seen, she stumbled upon an ancient stone, inscribed with markings she recognized: symbols of homecoming and new beginnings. It was Hexagram 24, Returning, an omen of hope, calling her back to her center.

Maia felt a deep, instinctive pull toward her old village. She realized that this time in hiding, her Brightness Hidden, had tempered her spirit, teaching her patience and resilience. Her heart had returned to its true self, braver and wiser.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Maia knew she would return. But this time, she would let her light shine as a quiet, steadfast beacon, guiding those willing to listen and grow. She had returned to herself, and soon, her people would feel her light once more, stronger and more enduring than before.

Maia would likely offer you gentle but powerful advice, shaped by her own journey through darkness, patience, and eventual renewal. She might say:

“Sometimes, when faced with a shadow that seeks to overpower us, our strength lies in quietly holding our light—not as a weapon, but as a source of inner truth and resilience. Saroj’s campaign may seem to dim your spirit, but like the sun hidden behind clouds, your essence remains undiminished. Protect your peace, let your actions be calm and wise, and trust that the right people will see through the shadows cast by others. Confronting darkness head-on can feed its power, especially when it thrives on discord. Someone like Saroj, who takes pleasure in stirring hatred, can draw you further into her web if you engage directly. Instead, take steps that protect your boundaries without feeding her influence. Document any harm, calmly share your truth with those willing to listen, and nurture your support network.

As I found solace in the forest and small acts of kindness that kept my heart true, you, too, can nurture your strength by staying grounded in who you are. Your integrity and patience will act as a quiet beacon, guiding you back to peace and respect. Sometimes, the most profound power lies in enduring with grace, waiting for the right moment to step back into the light.

Now, as you prepare to move to Falmouth, see this transition as a chance to reconnect with your true self and embrace the fresh start you’ve been yearning for. If your plans to move are currently stalled by circumstances beyond your control, consider this time as a natural part of the journey. Life sometimes asks us to pause, perhaps to gather strength or to let unseen forces align in our favor. There may be insights or resources that will reveal themselves only in this waiting period—gifts of patience, clarity, or even a deeper conviction of your choice.

In the meantime, nurture your vision of Falmouth by letting your mind settle into what this new life means for you. Prepare gradually, in small ways, for the transition, even if these actions seem minor or symbolic. Trust that the way forward will open when the timing is truly right. Like a forest path that appears only as you’re ready to walk it, your next steps will come into view, and you’ll be ready to take them with confidence and calm.

Maia’s journey reminds you that true resilience is often built in hidden spaces, and even in the face of cruelty or delay, your inner light remains steadfast. Whenever it unfolds, this move is a beautiful opportunity to shed what no longer serves you and create a life filled with clarity, growth, and purpose.”
