Happy Birthday Aquarius

For those born under the sign of Aquarius, find inspiration in the ancient Greek god, Zeus.

The gods have become diseases; Zeus no longer rules Olympus but rather the solar plexus and produces curious specimens for the doctor’s consulting room.

Carl Jung

According to former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, power is an aphrodisiac. This certainly was the case with Zeus. As the most powerful of the Olympian gods, he had his pick when it came to amorous liaisons. Willingly or not, his sexual partners were drawn to him like a bee to honey and his honey wasn’t his ability to make rapturous love, but instead his position and command.

This tells us much about the energy in play for Aquarians: they aren’t called upon to bare their souls or wallow in their deepest feelings. Instead, they must step back and strategise like Zeus: if he wanted a woman, he presented himself in whatever form was likely to seduce her. When it comes to finding a job, a mate or whatever else, Aquarius might do the same.

This is not to suggest Aquarius ought not to be true to him or herself – authenticity is the Aquarian byword – but sometimes they need to bend the rules in their favour. Zeus established the Olympians in power only with help from the Cyclopes and they helped him only because he freed them. Aquarius should never hesitate to help his friends and call in favours. Aquarius should also be quite clear about what is needed to win.

I will sing of Zeus, chiefest among the gods and greatest, all-seeing, the lord of all, the fulfiller who whispers words of wisdom to Themis as she sits leaning towards him.

Be gracious, all-seeing Son of Cronos, most excellent and great!

Homeric Hymn
