Shortly, we will experience the time of the first quarter square – the Crisis of Action – of the current 20-year Saturn/Jupiter cycle that started at the Winter Solstice in 2020 in the 1st degree of Aquarius.
This means that starting on Sunday (26 May 2024), we’ll begin finding out exactly how this will unfold when Jupiter moves into Gemini. Two critical moments in this experience are mid-August and the end of December 2024 – the exact moments of the square.
The Saturn/Jupiter dynamic is about reconfiguring the structures (both societal and personal) that, rooted in ideas (blueprints on the table), have given us meaning. It’s time to move forward with a revised blueprint. It is roughly a PLUTONIAN dynamic—look what is falling apart, what is breaking down, and what people are trying to change. At this first square –that Crisis of Action, there is potential for bringing a new order – a new structure – into play because the old order is no longer working. But beware of throwing the baby out with the bath water.
The particular theme (associated with the first decan of Aquarius) being depicted here is well-summarised by the tarot Five of Swords – the Lord of Defeat – this card usually shows one man holding 3 of the swords and looking pleased with himself – whilst the other two walk away from their swords – as if in defeat. Which figure or figures in the card should each of us identify with? That’s an intensely personal decision. But the point is that the challenge with which we now find ourselves presented gets easier if we focus on WHERE we are headed and WHY we want to get there instead of focusing on why we are so desperate to leave what we currently have.
To understand how this is playing out for you, look to the whole sign house of Aquarius in your natural—this is where the new cycle began, and it plays out in your whole sign house of Pisces. Bring to this a Jupiter in Gemini mindset (exploring diverse perspectives and intellectual curiosity), and you’ll be ahead of the game.
