Mark your calendars for the end of March 2025, as a celestial event of extraordinary rarity and significance will unfold. After a 13-year journey through Pisces, Neptune is preparing for a monumental shift into Aries, where it will remain for the next 14 years.
Prepare for an abrupt and powerful change as Neptune shifts from the realm of watery dreams of Pisces to the fiery arena of action in Aries. This transition is a shift in the celestial sphere and a potential catalyst for personal growth and societal transformation.
Mythologically, Neptune is the god of water; he governs the depths of the sea. His realm is ambiguous—colours and forms blend and dissolve, merging to form the zeitgeist, the subtle drum beat we all must march to. Neptune captures us not by the intellect but through the world of longing and dreams—what we find glamorous and fashionable—that which we are unable to resist.
Neptune’s last visit to Aries, from 1861 to 1875, was marked by significant historical events such as the American Civil War, Europe’s Industrial Revolution, and undreamed of scientific advances. This historical context sets the stage for what we can expect as Neptune returns to Aries, a period likely characterised by conflict, innovation, and transformation.
This is about the HERO archetype manifesting in many different ways – Aries is the youth of the zodiac – a naïve free spirit – I am ‘me’ and you can’t tell ‘me’ what to think or do – Neptune moving into Aries will ask us to move into this feeling of – ‘I am enough’ – ‘I am confident’ – and I am an individual – overcome your fears, rise, and become all you can be and you cannot take this from me – ‘because I am strong’.
ARIES is often associated with a youth that an overbearing authority has harmed—someone or something that says we aren’t good enough. We must undertake the quest, and don’t worry if it works—we DO IT!
It may be in the spiritual arena for some and the political arena for others—it’s more likely than not to be purely personal. Nonetheless, the zeitgeist is about taking targeted action to achieve some cause or undertaking that you are passionate about (or become) passionate about. It is a period characterised by risk, competition, and intensity.
FEEL THE HEAT, and it won’t always be pretty.
Later in 2025, Saturn moves into Aries, and although Saturn’s conjunction with Neptune will not occur properly until 2026, we will begin to feel the consequences. These two planets become conjunct about every 35 years (the last time was 1989, when they came together in Capricorn, and before that, 1951-53, when they were together in Libra). The archetypal theme in play with Saturn/Neptune is the urge to anchor some mystical or spiritual vision in society – but that will not be easy because Saturn likes to build walls, and Neptune undermines the walls at their very foundation. The good news is that Saturn/Neptune is associated with the courage to face difficult realities with courage and determination to make the world a better place in line with visionary ideals – I suppose one way to look at this is that there is light at the end of the darkest tunnel – although you may have to wait a while before you can see it.
