Uranus in Taurus – USA leads disruption in world order from 2018 – 2025

The planet Uranus generally spends 8 or so years in a particular sign and on 15 May 2018, it will enter Taurus, where it has not been since 1934 through 1941.

If Taurus is about security and stability and Uranus is about revolution (but once in power can be autocratic and totalitarian), then whilst Uranus is in Taurus, we might expect disruption in stability and security on a world-wide level. The last time Uranus was in Taurus, the rise of Nazi Germany and Italian Fascism (not to mention Japan’s invasion of China) most certainly disrupted world security and stability. If you go back further, you’ find it connected with the start of the protestant reformation (Saturn and Pluto were conjunct in Capricorn in 1517 just like they are right now.

Uranus will remain in Taurus until July 2025 when it enters Gemini.[1]

An ingress chart is used to take the pulse of the period which it covers (2018-2025) for a particular country. This chart is set for the location of government (Washington, DC) of the country (USA) in question at the exact moment of the ingress of Uranus into Taurus.

Ingress U into Taurus.jpgLeo is rising in this chart hence the Sun is the chart ruler and its position and aspects are key to the overall situation. Each planet in this chart symbolises a function that binds Americans into the nation- state and with the Sun, that function relates to its political leadership, most importantly, the office of president.

The Sun in this chart is high in the sky in the 10th house, where it is the natural ruler. Clearly during this period, the American presidency – as a political position and function – will be highly visible.

That the Sun in this chart has just formed a lunation (i.e. a new moon) is also key. A new cycle will have just commenced, although just like with any new moon, it’s still too dark to tell yet how it will unfold. Also, because the Moon represents the common people, we know that this new cycle must have to do with how the president and the presidency is perceived by and related to the electorate (common people).

When looking at an ingress chart such as this, we need to concentrate on ‘angular’ planets – i.e. planets which make close aspects to the angles (cusps of 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th houses). These are the planetary power brokers in question.

In this chart, there are three such planets:

  1. Uranus – (high in the sky at ‘high noon’ at the MC, or 10th house cusp at 29 Aries 20). Clearly the most powerful planet (by placement) in this chart.
  2. Mars – (at 29 Capricorn 47) makes a very, very close square aspect not only to that Uranus (0 Taurus 0) but also to the MC.
  3. Mercury – (at 3 Taurus 19) also in the 10th house and conjunct the MC although out of sign.

Put these all together, and expect some disruptive (Uranus) news (Mercury) about the president and/or presidency (MC and 10th house) that will have something to do with the military (Mars). The overall tone for the next seven years (lunation at ingress) will be disruption in world security and stability (think rise of Nazi Germany) and the United States as a nation state as well as its political leadership will be prominently (as was Hitler and Germany) featured in whatever unfolds.

[1] Note that the ingress of Uranus into Gemini has a long-established link for the US with war – in particular the American Revolution, the Civil War, and WWII. Note also that the ingress of Neptune into Aires in 1861 heralded to the day, the first shot of the America Civil war and Neptune will enter Aries again in March 2025. This suggests that 2025 will be a very significant year for the nation state we know now as the United States of America.

A PRIMER ON POLITICAL ASTROLOGY

The practice of using planetary cycles to measure or predict political events originates with Plato’s Timaeus, dating from the early fourth century BC:

Wherefore, as a consequence of this reasoning and design on the part of God, with a view to the generation of Time, the sun and moon and five other stars, which bear the appellation of “planets” [i.e., ‘wanderers’], came into existence for the determining and preserving of the numbers of Time.” (Timaeus 38C).

images.jpegAfter setting aside Plato’s reference to “God,” (his creator was understood as a remote, original Mind, or Consciousness, not as the personal Christian, Jewish or Islamic God), we are left with the following hypothesis:

  • All political events originate as intention.
  • All phenomena in the universe, including intentions and political events, change and move forward in time in a mathematically measured sequence.
  • As all things in the universe are part of a mathematically measurable order, planets and politics are part and parcel of it as well.
  • The mathematical sequence of change, including politics, can be measured by the movements of the planets.
  • As the planets return periodically to the same position, so political change is characterized by periodic repetition. Note, however, that Plato does not suggest that the repetition is of exact detail but only of general theme.

Broadly, Plato’s system assumes a form of determinism in which events can be predicted by projecting planetary positions into the future. It therefore follows that the general nature of future political events already exists, even if only in a potential state.

However, Platonic determinism is moderated by the possibility of human intervention:

“They [the astrologers] would never have devised certain means of averting of warding off…the universal and particular conditions that come or are present by reason of the ambient, if they had any idea that the future cannot be moved and changed.” (Ptolemy, Tetrabiblos 1.3)

In Ptolemaic cosmology, the whole point of prediction is to encourage human intervention so that undesirable predictions are not fulfilled.

Change of this sort is becoming increasingly rare as it requires cooperation across a broad spectrum of the global community and assumes that the members comprising such spectrum are willing and able find common ground. Consider the difficulties experienced earlier this century, for example, by the group of world leaders regarding climate change.

According to traditional social psychology, group dynamics starts with the sum of the individual parts. The more individual parts, the more varied the group dynamics.

Hence the importance of natal – or psychological – astrology.

Romney Makes Fellow Americans in London Cry Out in Pain

Yes, America, it’s true.

Mitt Romney – Republican Presidential candidate (presumptive) – made such a fool of himself in London that your fellow Americans living here cried out in pain …. (Boris – the Mayor of London is – like myself and a good many others – a dual-national).

It’s one thing to insult your host from ignorance (we’d like to give Mitt the benefit of the doubt as was done with GW Bush), but it’s another altogether to do so out of arrogance – an arrogance so grevious – that the Prime Minister felt compelled to reply (although it’s likely that the full impact of this went over Mitt’s head – and that’s the best part).

In an increasingly ‘global economy’ in which the US wishes to be a big – if not the biggest – player, then (contrary to apparent popular belief) – it’s not just about the voters ‘back home’.

Everyone – including a superpower – needs more friends than enemies.  This is especially the case when America’s position as said superpower is no longer completely secure.
